CONSIGNMENT SALES POLICY

A. A member wishing to sell their work at the studio must complete a Consignment Sales Agreement each calendar year.

B. Members may place art pieces and jewelry pieces for sale in the club provided the piece placed for sale consists of at least one or more of the glass disciplines available to them at the Studio. (foil & solder; came; fusing; mosaic; etching).

C. Each item containing an individual price is an individual piece. Members may place 1 – 10 art pieces on the shelf. (Amount is at discretion of Consignment Manager). Multiple pieces containing a single price shall be considered a set, and therefore, a single item. Items placed for sale must have been made by the member placing it for sale. Items 14”or wider will be considered two items.

D. A display stand may be used for artwork provided it is part of the art piece and is included in the price of the item. If the display stand is not included with the art piece, it must be labeled “stand not for sale”. Display stands may not be sold separately as an “add on” sale with the exception of the Spring Arts & Crafts and the Oktoberfest Sales.

E. Jewelry and other small items must be displayed in the jewelry case. The artist will be allowed 1-15 pieces. Each item containing an individual price shall be considered an individual piece. Amount of pieces will be at the discretion of the Consignment Manager. Pieces that are 0” – 2” will be considered one item. Pieces over 2” will be considered 2 items. If an artist chooses to display jewelry/small items and art pieces, the jewelry/small items (1-15) will count as 2 of the 1-10 pieces allowed. Chains must be in the price of the piece and cannot be sold separately with the exception of the Spring Arts & Craft and Oktoberfest Sales.

F. All artwork and jewelry must be replaced with new items bi-monthly. 1/1 3/1 5/1 7/1 9/1 11/1. Artists will have the ability to change, or replace their artwork anytime during the two months as long as the amount of items matches what the Consignment Manager has allowed.

G. Due to space limitations, and to accommodate the display needs of all members as equitably as possible, members may need to reduce the number of art pieces or jewelry/small items on display. Should this become necessary, The Club’s Consignment Manager will make that determination and contact the artists requesting they remove the necessary pieces. The artist is required to remove their work within 2 days of the request. If the artwork, jewelry/small items are not removed by the 2nd day, the Consignment Manager will use his/her judgment to remove the necessary number of pieces.

H. It shall be the responsibility first and foremost of the member artist, and second of the Consignment Manager to assure that a Member Artist is displaying no more than the allowed number of art pieces and or jewelry/small items at any time.

I. Members participating in consignment sales are to use the studio for the majority of their work so their knowledge and talent can benefit other club members. In accordance with CAM’s Club ByLaws (4.13) artwork made in the Club cannot be sold outside of the Club unless it is a sanctioned CAM activity.

J. Members who do commission sales at the studio are encouraged to donate 10% of their sales to the club.

K. Individuals who choose to do consignment work are expected to give service to the Club beyond the normal monitoring credits, i.e. committee work, mentoring a new member, do a workshop, teach a class, extra monitoring without receiving credit for the bi-monthly period they are selling artwork.

This agreement shall be effective from January 1 to December 31 of each year. I agree to pay the Club the consignment fee of 10%. The Club will NOT be responsible for any pieces of art that break. This agreement shall continue unless terminated by the Club, or cancelled by the member. All consignment items in the Studio must be removed upon termination of this agreement.

It is a privilege to display glass art at the Club. With this privilege comes the responsibility to adhere to the Consignment Sales Policy. Your signature below assures your understanding and agreement to each section of this policy.
