MONITOR CREDIT POLICY
MEMBERSHIP OBLIGATES EACH PERSON TO PROVIDE SERVICE TO THE CLUB. (SEE MEMBERSHIP
APPLICATION)
DEFINITION:
MEMBERSHIP OBLIGATION - FOR ALL MEMBERS IS EARNING FOUR (4) MONITOR CREDITS.
EACH MONITOR CREDIT CONSISTS OF STUDIO MONITOR DUTY OF 3 1/2 HOURS OR EQUIVALENT DURING THE PRECEDING FOUR QUARTERS. THIS
INCLUDES PART TIME RESIDENTS. OBLIGATION IS TO EACH MEMBER AND CANNOT BE FULFILLED BY ANOTHER MEMBER OR SPOUSE. OBLIGATION
FOR NEW MEMBERS BEGIN IN THE FIRST QUARTER FOLLOWING THEIR COMPLETION OF THE INTRODUCTION TO STAINED GLASS CLASS.
MEMBER IN GOOD STANDING:
Is a member who is current in fulfilling their membership obligation.
STUDIO MONITORING: Service
in the studio as monitor for 3 ½ hours.

If 2 people choose to monitor together, only 1 person will receive a monitoring credit. The person
receiving the credit will be the only 1 signing the 'Cash Tracking' sheet. The only exception will be for 'new' members monitoring
the first time since they are being trained at the position.
Alternative monitoring credits Effective 12/1/12
Towels
Disabled members may wash towels for credits to maintain
good standing.
Winter visitors: If residing in SCG 6months or
less, a member can earn 1 credit by washing towels one time. They, then, must monitor at least 3 more times to total 4 credits
for the year. If residing in SCG 3 months or less, a member can earn 2 credits per year washing towels. They, then,
need to monitor at least 2 times to total 4 credits for the year.
Social Committee
Serving on the social committee can earn up to 2 credits
per year. Member still must monitor at least 2 times for the remainder of the 4 credits necessary to maintain good standing.
Credits earned are at the discretion of the social committee chairperson.
Miscellaneous
Special circumstances may be discussed with the Monitor
Chairperson.
Keep in mind that members can bank up to 6 credits per
year to maintain good standing within the club.
Members are exempt from monitoring if they participate
in one of the following:
Board Member, Committee Chair,
Kiln Committee, or Class Instructor
A member on the towel list may possibly be asked
to wash towels an additional time, if necessary, without credit, for the good of the club.
BANKED CREDITS:
A member in good standing who earns
more than one monitor credit per quarter, the additional credit(s) will be banked for later use. A maximum of six banked credits will be permitted at any time and will be carried over until used.
POLICY:
In order to evenly distribute the membership
obligation throughout the year, members need to record one monitor credit per quarter in order to be considered a member in
good standing; this can be accomplished either by studio monitoring, earning alternative monitor credit(s) or deducting one
banked credit from the member’s account.This policy will be enforced in a fair
and consistent manner.
Members not fulfilling their obligations
on a quarterly basis will be considered not in good standing. Such members will
not be permitted to use the studio, attend classes or purchase supplies.
Exception
– a serious illness that precludes use of the studio for at least six months.
